Let’s face it, and it took North Georgia Culture more than one less than desirable experiences at Chinese and Japanese restaurants in Cleveland to determine this, but there is not a lot of great Asian food in North Georgia. That makes sense though! North Georgia is famous for barbeque, smoked meats, brisket and ribs, Southern food, Southern Comfort food, and even authentic Mexican food. So when we discovered Bangkok Haus, we added it to our Rolodex of restaurants. We have dined often at Bangkok, and like just walking in and sitting at the bar. They have Asian lagers, like Chang Lager, that we don’t find elsewhere, and a nice choice a sake, including Asahi, and a full bar of spirits.
The menu includes Thai, Chines, and Japanese. We have always enjoyed the sushi, which has been fresh, and made to order. The sushi chefs are there behind their own sushi bar. I often order the Pad Thai and it is spicy and a good sized portion, and for starters, the pot stickers are perfect. For my last order, I ventured away from my normal order of Pad Thai and tried the Orange Sesame Chicken. I thought twice as sometimes orange chicken is too sweet for me, but this was lovely, and had a hint of sweet from the sauce, but it was also spicy and the chicken was not overcooked, so it was delightful and I would order it again.
They have TVs at the bar so you can watch a game if you are interested in sports, and I am sure they would accommodate your request. We just wish they were open later, but we wish all restaurants and bars in North Georgia would stay open later. Lastly, our server, who was the bartender was the manager that name, a lovely lady named Skye, and she was a true professional, not just with us and our food and drink needs, but also managing the floor and mixing cocktails.
