When North Georgia Culture was invited to the special Sunset Supper at Limoges Cellars of Cleveland, Georgia, we did not say “Yes,” we said
Hell Yes!” Limoges Cellars Sunset Suppers are a special dinner paired with specific wines. Occasions like this are rare in North Georgia, so this was sold out, and is very popular, and worth the ticket. The photos illustrate how beautifully curated were the tables and the settings. Having lived over a decade in New York and attending many different tasting menus, we thought this dining experience was exemplary. Limoges Cellars does not have a kitchen, so they had partnered with Mountain Top Lodge of Dahlonega who prepared the meal that was paired with Limoges wines. We enjoyed each dish, and the Lion Mane Soup was a real stand-out and our favorite course. The two main courses were Orange Roughy and Pork Jowel, and they were also excellent, and the wine pairings were superb. We have discussed our favorite Limoges in an earlier review of the winery, and we enjoy and appreciate their wines even more having paired them with specific dishes. Again, these opportunities to enjoy fine dining and fine wine, with a fine group of people are not plentiful here in North Georgia, so we highly recommend the Limoges Sunset Suppers, and we will be joining the next ones too. Our only note of something we wish had been different, we wish there had been a cocktail meet and greet or social time, just half an hour, before the dinner started. There were so many interesting people there, and we wanted to meet all of them!
Please let Limoges know you read about them on North Georgia Culture!
