This North Georgia dining experience earns an A+ for dining experiences anywhere. From the choice of local cuisine, to the quality of cocktails and wine selection, to the professional staff, Harvest Habersham is a North Georgia gem. Mind you they are reservation only Wed-Sat, 5pm-8pm, so you must plan in advance, and please do. The staff were pros and the timing was perfect – they offered us the chance to enjoy a nice cocktail while we contemplated this daily menu of gorgeous local offerings. The menu is different each day, so please note that our offerings may not be offered when you visit, but we are confident the menu is always exemplary.

From the starters section, we opted for the beef tartare (not readily available in North Georgia), the Fried Chanterelle Mushrooms (a North Georgia Mushroom delicacy), and the Tomato Okra Pizzetta. We could have ordered everything from the small plates menu, and may next visit. We were impressed with the presentation of each dish, the tartare was accompanied by the right kind of spicy mustard and a flavorful beef, the chanterelle mushrooms were on the larger side and the breading was perfect for these local mushrooms (if you like onion rings you will love these), and the pizzetta was perfect and would appeal to everyone.

For our main entrees we had the Carolina Mountain Trout, that was accented with Chanterelle Mushrooms, and it was perfectly seasoned and spiced, fresh, in a vinaigrette that enhanced the moist flavor, and it was excellent. This was an upscale presentation of our the local trout that we are fortunate is readily available, and this is one of the best examples of it.

Our other main dish was the Grilled Painted Hills Teres Major Steak, and I ordered mine Rare, and they know what Rare means. It came on a bed of mashed potatoes, fried green beans, and oyster mushrooms that were mixed together, so all their flavors had intertwined, and the steak on top was perfectly seared around the edges, peppered and seasoned, a hearty cut, and an ideal temperature of Rare, as ordered; an excellent steak! The servers and the front desk were all exemplary and true pros who knew how to make sure you had everything you needed or wanted, without asking or interrupting, so Harvest Habersham, in addition to being a destination for an excellent meal, is also an excellent destination for a date, special occasion, anniversary, birthday, or a quiet fine dinner. We look forward to many returns.
