We’ve enjoyed fine sushi in New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo, and our meal in Blue Ridge, Georgia this summer ranks up there as one of our finest and favorite meals! The ambiance, staff, decor, music and lighting all presented a business committed to a fine sushi meal; all the staff were very pleasant and the sushi chefs (we sat at the bar) were real pros. We opted for the “Chef’s Choice” sushi meal, which is always going to be pricier than ordering sushi a la carte, but if you love sushi and are adventurous, you get to try some sushi that may be new to you. They have an extensive sake and Japanese beer list as well, which we enjoyed alongside our tempura appetizer. The tempura was light and the batter flavorful, none of the vegetables or shrimp were dry; it was a perfect opening appetizer. While I can not describe every kind of sushi served to us in the “Chef’s Choice,” it was all fresh, and clean, high quality fish not fatty, and every bite was a treat. Our finale was Barracuda! Barracuda is not a common sushi available anywhere, and it does taste unlike any other fish, highly recommended (if available).

Blue Ridge has so many great restaurants, and lounges, and bars, and we highly recommend Kurokoi, and take a look at the menu even if you do not love sushi, for their noodles or tempura or rice entrees that we wager are also outstanding. Please let them know you read about Kurokoi here at North Georgia Culture!
