We visit and love Riverside Tavern, especially on Wednesday when they host DJ Trivia (7pm sharp start). This is a tavern and restaurant with limited bar seating (our favorite spot if you can get a stool at the bar), plentiful tables and very nice outdoors enclosed seating. We have ordered most of the menu, and approve of any meal. The sandwiches are great, and the sides are excellent and fresh and taste like they are made to order, french fries and tater tots for instance, or at least made that day from scratch, green beans, cole slaw, potato salad for instance. As for the main, the smoked ribs and smoked chicken are prepared daily and are outstanding. I switch between and for the ribs I opt for a half rack. I have ordered a whole rack and taken home one half for a meal the following day, and they are just as delicious as in the restaurant. The smoked chicken is outstanding and note it is a half chicken, so a hearty meal, and I do finish the half chicken while there for dinner. My wife orders the trout, blackened, each time, with tater tots and green beans, and will declare the trout is exceptional. We recommend their menu for hearty meals like chicken and ribs, and also for sandwiches for a lighter meal.
The drinks are a good pour and they offer Classic City Lager which is out favorite beer. Dogs who are well behaved and on leash are permitted, weather permitting at the outdoors tables. Now we have been to Riverside for karaoke on Fridays, but Wednesday trivia hosted by DJ Trivia is a weekly social event and dinner for us. It starts at 7pm sharp, and we order dinner after round 1. Plan for a delightful and entertaining hour and 45 minutes while the DJ Trivia host Bill, https://www.djtrivia.com/, provides clever and hilarious quips and commentary between questions. Like all trivia night, tip the servers and bartenders well for this free event that has cash prizes for top finishers, gift and drink certificates for a future visit. We really, truly enjoy Wednesday nights for trivia and dinner and think it is one of the finest and most fun events in the area.
