We enjoyed “last call” half hour before closing at Kaya and the chance to enjoy two Dry wines this spring. The young lady pouring the wine was very pleasant and professional, while this was early Spring for North Georgia, the landscape and view around Kaya are still a delight, and only get better later in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Here are our insights on the two Dry wines we tasted:
- Barrel Aged Viognier – Deep golden color, Unique, very creamy and Dry. Feels like what an oaked Chardonnay would taste like without the pencil shavings. Like a Creamsicle without the citrus sweet. Very nice!
- Dry Rose – Crispy, Provence style Rose, not jammy and not fruity. Would be a lovely wine to share during an Easter brunch (which was around the time of this tasting), or any Spring time brunch.
We plan to return to this charming winery that is owned by the same team as the Dahlonega Resort and Vineyard, and their restaurant Blueberry Hill, that we adore for brunch. Please tell them you read a review on North Georgia Culture!
