The Watering Hole is a new sports bar (arguably the largest sports bar in North Georgia, definitely in White County, Georgia), with an inviting scene, pool tables, attentive and knowledgeable bartenders, and fine wings and tacos (among other bar food). We had been a few times for drinks and were delighted to find a crowd, and then returned for the College Football National Championship night in January because I am an Indiana University fan (by virtue of growing up in Indiana). So we were there recently for a huge game! The drinks are affordable and they have a Yuengling Premium in a can which is an Outstanding Beer! If you like a nice lager, ask for the Yuengling Premium which comes in a Mid Century Modern Retro looking can.
The wings are cooked to order and Watering Hole offers a number of sauces, but we chose Lemon Pepper Dry Rub, and it was the right choice. Juicy wings, not over cooked, not greasy, flavorful, just good wings. We also went with the street tacos and chose steak, and they were proper street tacos. We recommend adding the red sauce and the green sauce together, and next time we are trying the chicken and chorizo. We watched some other guests order their food and the fries look great, and the burgers were good size and we noticed they looked medium rare, so likely cooked to order and to your temperature.
Watering Hole has a LOT of TVs, so if you are a Falcons, Bulldogs, Braves, or NASCAR, Monster Truck, Soccer, or college sports fan, you can request any game on a TV. So we do believe this is the biggest sports bar in North Georgia that is also welcoming for families, for happy hour, pool, karaoke nights, and North Georgia Culture is excited to endorse and recommend them for everyone visiting the area, and for folks from Cleveland, Helen, and Sautee.
