July 2025 update – Dined at The Copper Pot for brunch on a Sunday, and while it was not easy to not order the Reuben sandwich, I ordered the famous chicken sandwich, and it is a star! The chicken is white meat with a spicy and flavorful breading that may have included onion powder, pepper, and maybe a Lawry’s Seasoned Salt or a Penzeys Seasoned Salt, on a brioche bun with 2-3 pickles and just the right amount of flavored mayo. The chicken sandwich may be the finest in North Georgia, and as always, we recommend sitting at the bar for the most efficient service and to see the strong offering of liquors and spirits they have, and to chat and banter with the professional and charming bartender. You can not go wrong with their chicken sandwich!
We have only had the chance to visit, dine, and drink at The Copper Pot for Sunday brunch, and it is a favorite brunch destination, and there are not a ton of brunch options in North Georgia. To start, the staff are all real pros, and the Sunday bartender knows how to make a proper Bloody Mary. They have a wide selection of beers and a strong selection of spirits, so this is also one of the few proper cocktail options in North Georgia.
I always get the Reuben sandwich, and it is an excellent portion of fine ham, and it is not messy. Sometimes the Reuben can be a messy sandwich, and not the case here. We have also ordered the daily specials like a grits, or their Caesar Salad. They are famous for their small pizzas, which are indeed excellent. You can split a small pizza and will likely want another side to share. We plan to return to try their famous chicken sandwich that looks delicious when it passes by us, and we would also try their steak dinner.
The name is inspired by a character and events in the movie “The Goonies.” If this interests you, then please walk into the room off to the set for private events and take a look at “The Goonies” memorabilia decorating the walls. We also LOVE how The Copper Pot decorates their walls with original works of art by local artists, and the works of art are for sale. A terrific situation for the artist and The Copper Pot and a great opportunity for every customer. Also, pay extra attention to the the palatial sized mural outside by artist Nick Morris.
