Spring 2026 new review of 5 wines including a NEW wine:
- Georgia Cuve Rose; crafted in the champagne method, this lovely sparkling wine is 1 of our 2 favorite sparkling wines in North Georgia (contact us to learn about the winery with our other favorite sparking).
- Dry Rose; deep earthy flavor, wildly pleasant, no berries or strawberries, much more earthy with hints of apricot and black cherry. You can serve this at any party as it is very grounded.
- No Oak Chardonnay; very easy drinking; if you prefer the no oak style of chardonnay, this is it and is the perfect expression of the grape. Arguably the best un oaked chardonnay in North Georgia.
- NEW Dry Rose; very dark in color and drinks like a very light Red more than Rose; very pleasant flavor and if you are not a fan of Whites but also don’t want a heavy Red, this is it!
- Pinot Blanc; very nice Pinot that smells dry, tastes dry, and is tart and floral at the same time.

June 2025 – What a delightful time we had at Three Sisters whom we were able to visit for a tasting near the end of their day. Please note they close earlier than some other wineries. Three Sisters’ hours are Thursday – Saturday, 11am-5pm and Sunday 1pm-5pm. Dogs are permitted on the outdoors patio but outside food and drink are not, so not picnics. While we did not get to spend as much time at Three Sisters as we would have preferred, the stay and the tasting were exceptional! Before the review of the wines, we were so impress by their choice of local Georgia Folk Art inside their tasting room. They have an impressive collection of Folk Art paintings by a North Georgia artist named Cornbread, and their bar has a cabinet behind it with an impressive collection of clay pottery by the famous Meaders Family of Cleveland, Georgia. We own seven works of vintage Meaders pottery and also own a painting by the mother of the artist Cornbread, so we were excited and delighted. We met the sommelier, a gentleman named Hans who was charming, knowledgeable, funny, and attentive to our requests for Dry wines. We sat outside under their covered porch, and they played music over the speakers (Rolling Stones to CCR to Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, etc.) and their playlist was excellent and would help complement a good time.
Here are our reviews:
- Cuvee (Champagne) – Made in the champagne style but since it is made in North Georgia, not in France, it can not be called Champagne. Regardless, we bought a bottle and will be serving this fine “champagne” at our Tony or Academy Awards parties. Outstansding!
- Chestatee – Drinks like a Pinot Grigio, very dry, citrus forward, fun, and would be lovely at any occasion especially with Oysters as it was a hint briney.
- Chardonnay – No oak flavor or taste, exactly what you would expect from a fine European Chardonnay.
- Rose – Very dry, and the darkest Rose we have ever seen. If you like Rose, you must have this dark colored Rose under your belt. We enjoyed it, but found it tastes more like a chilled red wine than a traditional Rose.
- Joe Pye Red – A+++++++ Smooth, lovely, chocolatey, little bit of cooked fruit like stewed prune. Quite a fine red with a little bit of leather and wood to add to its sophistication.
Be sure to admire all the works of art as if you are in a gallery, tip the servers 15-20% of the tab, and enjoy some of North Georgia’s finest wines. Tell them you read a review on northgeorgiaculture.com!
