May 2026 Updated Review: Had visited Betty’s many times this year for the outdoor beer garden and the finest selection of beers in North Georgia. In May this year 2026, stayed for sandwiches, and report back that the Reuben is proper and excellent, and the chicken salad recipe should be entered into a contest. They know the trick to a Reuben is combining all the ingredients to make a sandwich; it’s not just a list of things between two slices of rye, as so many places sadly offer. The Reuben at Betty’s is excellent. Now the chicken salad is a bespoke and secret recipe and should remain that way. We don’t want to know how they make their chicken salad because we could never recreate it. We highly recommend dining at Betty’s!
Original early 2026 Review: Betty’s Country Store is famous in North Georgia for fine, premium groceries, nice produce, a wine selection, a wide range of sweets, coffees teas, and other grocery and market staples. Off to the side of the entrance is a little outside bar with an outstanding variety and range of foreign and premium beers and also a fine selection of wines! The square bar can seat 15 -18 approximately there at the bar and there are standing room areas behind and some tables to the side so you can bring a date or a party for a few rounds. They have 2 TVs, and I wager they would turn them to any game you request. They also serve sandwiches at the bar where you get to use a checklist to create your own, and while we have not tried them yet, they do look delicious and we love the build-your-own custom sandwich option.
Back to the beers, they have a large selection of European beers. I have tried many of the German lagers, and the Schlenkerla Smoked Lager was one of my favorites as it had an in-your-face smokiness, unlike anything I was used to, and it was a lot easier to drink than you’d initially think with the smokiness. I think the trick at Betty’s is to try a different beer with each round because they have so many fine foreign beers that you do not find anywhere else in North Georgia!
