Campfire Restaurant (Helen, Georgia) Review – Gather ‘Round for a Fine Meal

Campfire Restaurant Helen, Georgia

8160 S Main St Suite B-6B, Helen, Georgia 30545 (Right next to the Dollar General)

Wager you have seen the billboard just outside of Cleveland on Helen Highway for Campfire. You can not miss it. Campfire is in the main section of town in the same mall as Dollar General. We went on a Sunday for an early supper and loved our meals, and also think we made the two perfect choices that we would love to recommend to you.

Fish and Chips – Very light catfish filets, not greasy at all, and a Very Interesting secret and special recipe batter that was not the traditional cornmeal, but some sort of blended and spiced batter without the sweetness sometimes of cornmeal batter. We regret not adding a Shrimp Add-on! The fries were crinkle cut style, unexpected and our personal favorite and they were masterfully seasoned. The claw was fresh and bright and the starter Caesar Salad was proper too with very interesting cornbread croutons that worked against the salty of the Parmesan cheese and the Caesar dressing. We would order this again!

Fried Green BLT Salad with Pulled Pork – Such a pleasant surprise and something new! The pulled pork was more like a chopped pork and just a flavor bomb! Excellent pulled pork, that again was a little more fine and closer to chopped pork. The fried green tomatoes tasted made to order for us, and like with the Caesar salad, the cornbread croutons were such a nice touch and additional flavor we did not expect. This was a perfect salad for your main entree.

We would definitely return and order the pulled pork sandwich and their chicken tenders that would be amazing if they use the same batter as their fine catfish. The Signature Smash Burger sounds incredible if you have an appetite and love a deluxe burger. We appreciate the beer they had available like PBR, and our one note is we wish they were in a different kind of space more suited to a restaurant, preferably with a bar. Our table service was excellent, but we prefer sitting at the bar, and we are hopeful and enthusiastic for Campfire that they outgrow this space for a more distinctive and larger space with a bar. We wish them all the best and this is one of the highest quality meals we have had in Helen, so we highly recommend Campfire.
