60 S Main Street, Clayton, Georgia 30525 (Inside the Bridge Creek Inn)
When we walked into the Bridge Creek Inn boutique hotel in downtown Clayton, we expected a fine Sunday brunch based on the cool and thoughtful interior design, the original artwork (for sale) on many of the walls, the exposed Industrial Lite fixtures, great looking bar, and the attentive and professional staff we engaged at every step of the meal and experience.
We started with a Bloody Mary and the Vandiver Verde and they were both very tasty and the bartender clearly knows how to make craft cocktails. For our meal we settled on splitting the Kale Caesar, the Crab Cakes Benedict and the Shrimp and Grits. The Caesar came out and it was lightly dressed but the dressing was very flavorful, and likely a house made Caesar dressing. We were happy about how they split the salad for us into two different plates as well. The Crab Cake Benedict was outstanding and the crab cake was high quality, a little flakey, and the Hollandaise was light, but flavorful, so you are able to enjoy the whole Benedict, without being overpowered by Hollandaise. The eggs were poached perfectly for Benedict, not too runny. The shrimp and grits were also outstanding and presented perfectly. We were really impressed by the presentation of all our dishes. The staff were clearly pros who knew how to stay attentive if we needed something while giving us our time and privacy to enjoy brunch. At the end of brunch, right away we started planning a return visit for dinner or a later night at the bar!
We look forward to returning for a weekend in Clayton and hopefully staying at the Bridge Creek Inn! Please tell them you read a review from NorthGeorgiaCulture.com.
