Cavender Creek Vineyards and Winery – Winery Review

Cavender Creek Winery April 2025 with the house dog Tucker

3610 Cavender Creek Road, Dahlonega, Georgia 30533

Please note that dogs and pets are not permitted as this is a working farm. There is a very friendly, warm, intelligent house dog named Tucker that may be around, but other dogs can not be on property as this is a farm.

Cavender Creek has one of the most impressive and comfortable indoors tasting rooms of North Georgia. You can go with a party of 4, 6, or 8 and find a setting with 2 couches and a coffee table, or if just 2 of you, you can find 2 large comfortable chairs with a side table. They are staffed well so you should not expect much of a wait unless they are very busy. Like we said already, there is a house dog, a large white gorgeous dog named Tucker who roams the property if the owners are on site. We are dog people so we love Tucker, and understand that we could not bring our dogs as the grounds are also a farm, and there are pictures to be taken all around. We had the White Wine and Red Wine tastings, and they cover all tastes, sweet to dry. Here are our observations from April 2025:

White wines 1. 2022 Petit Manseng – Sweet wine, great if you prefer sweet 2. 2023 Riesling – Little sweet, would be nice with cheese 3. Two Annes – Very creamy on the finish and pleasant 4. 2021 Chardonnay – Very oaky Chardonnay if you prefer the oak barrel chardonnay (Menu of the White Flight is below)

Red Wines with the Red Flight: 1. 2022 Lenoir – Tasted farm, barn, cowshed,,,we enjoyed it but it has a lot going on so for an experienced wine drinker. 2. 2021 Zinfandel – Good wine with barbeque 3. 2021 Cabernet Franc – Tasted bell peppers, as expected, with a bit of an alcohol finish, so some kick 4. 2022 Syrah – Very nice syrah

We will return to Cavender Creek for the pleasant staff, to see Tucker, try their next season of wines as they have quite a few, and also, we had the chance to meet the owners, and they were so charming. We hope to run into the owners the next time. The owner offered us a taste of a red wine that was off the menu, coming soon. After we had a taste of it, we had to have it, and we were able to bring home a bottle.

Be sure to tip the fine staff the traditional 15-20% and be sure to tell them you read about Cavender Creek on NorthGeorgiaCulture.com!
