571 Ridge Road, Helen, Georgia 30545
We had visited Uhuburg once already in January 2025 during their Renaissance Festival style “CastleFaire,” but due to the cold and damp day (just bad luck), we were not able to properly and your the grounds of this castle that you are not going to believe is in North Georgia. This summer we visited the castle for a private tour, and it felt like we were in another land, in another time. The castle is designed so that the view of the North Georgia Mountains is not obstructed or blighted by any of the signs or lights of nearby Helen, Georgia. So you do feel like you are in a medieval countryside. The grounds are full of Greek and Roman statues, expansive murals and landscapes with philosophical lessons from a range of the great intellects and cultural influences of the world, Hinduism, Taoism, Confucianism, and New Age. The lessons are positive and uplifting and the mural artwork will impress anyone who loves or appreciates original art. The grounds include streams, plenty of open space, an incredible Carnivorous Plant bog, and then there is the magnificent castle. The castle can host outdoors fairs, and is available for private events such as weddings, parties, galas, and the castle has sleeping quarters (that we were not able to see, but imagine sleeping in a castle and how cool that would be). While the castle is not open every day to the public except for their special events, or if you are lucky enough to be invited to a private event, they do host enough events through the year that you can have the opportunity to visit this incredible castle, deep in the heart of North Georgia, by visiting the Uhuburg website.
