5012 Helen Hwy, 30571 (If you are leaving Cleveland, on Helen Highway, this is an awesome choice before going all the way to Helen)
August 2025 New Hours: Monday-Tuesday CLOSED, Wednesday – 5pm – 12 Midnight, Thursday-Friday 12pm Noon – 12 Midnight, Sunday – 12pm Noon-9pm
Have had drinks twice at Benchwarmers, first on a Friday Karaoke night and most recently on a random Wednesday night, and this is a great bar! They have numerous TVs so we suggest this watering hole if you are a sports fan or if you have a game or match you would like to watch. The Indianapolis 500 is coming up at the end of May, and we plan to go there and request to watch the race. They have a pool room with tournaments on Wednesdays, karaoke on Friday and Saturday, and again, whatever sports you follow, I wager you can watch it there.
We have not tried the food yet but it does look good. The cocktails are great. We ordered gin and sodas with limes, and they were excellent and that was the house gin. They have a wide selection of beers, and we just saw their outside patio. They can pack a lot of people on the porch patio if you went with a group, and the area would be awesome on a nice day and the outdoors patio has a bar too.
**We noticed that they accept donations for the local humane society, the Charles Smithgall Humane Society. This is a BIG plus for us as we are rescue dog people, and love rescue cat people, so Benchwarmers gets a special check from us for also wanting to support rescue animals.**
So, if you are in Cleveland and looking for a sports bar, or seeking food later in the evening you don’t need to drive to Helen, you should stop in Benchwarmers. The staff are very friendly as well, and attentive, and we had the good fortune of meeting the owner, a gentleman named Wayne, and he was very fun, pleasant, cordial and busy as he was helping host the busy night. We will be back soon, and the latest will be the Indianapolis 500! Remember to tip the bartenders and servers well (20% for the tab or $1 per drink traditional tip)! Tell them you read a review on northgeorgiaculture.com!
