Accent Cellars – Winery Review, Dahlonega, Georgia

215 Auraria Road, Dahlonega, Georgia 30533 (outside of downtown Dahlonega)

May 2025 – We stopped in to enjoy what was new for the season and to enjoy some of our favorites again. Here are our reviews:

1. The Gruner – Nice citrus and minerality, easy summer drinking wine, good with food or without food, and we really thought it would be a great complement to fish tacos!

2. The Semillon – A lot more minerality, more complex overall, a nice round balance of fruit and minerality, can almost its steel vast and steel cask it is that clean and smooth.

3. Pinot Grigio – Rose colored due to, as we were told by the informative tasting room manager, the grapes arriving macerated (the juice in contact with the skin of the grapes), and it was funky and tasted experimental, and we loved it!

**Very important to note that they have cats on the property, so if you are allergic, as I am, you need to sit outside on the patio.**

**Dogs are permitted and must be friendly and on leashes at all times.**

March 2025 – We stopped in Accent for the first time, and had a blast learning about their wines, listening to a one man band singing favorite cover songs, and the crowd was lively, but the place was not packed either. Accent has some cool structures adjacent to the main tasting room for private events. There is a construction site next door and we hope it is something cool that complements Accent and not another Dollar General or gas station.

Here is our review of the wines we tasted in their flight:

Chenin Blanc – Dry and very nice

Semillion 2022 – Dry and very nice

Gruner – Dry and very nice

We were given a special taste of an orange wine. I love orange and orange juice, thought this tasted like fine orange juice with a slight kick. We liked it! We tried some other wines and when they were described as Dry, they were Dry. The semi-sweet wines were on the sweeter side as described accurately. They also have a great supply of meats and cheese in their cooler and some very nice snack mix, so you can also have snacks there to complement your wines. We really like the singer who covered a song by Nirvana! You don’t hear that often. We will be returning to Accent and keeping ourselves updated on their events and happenings. Be sure to tip 15-20% on your tab and tip a few bucks to the performer! Tell them you read about them at NorthGeorgiaCulture.com!
